System point: the way D&D seems to be set up, level ome is the culmination of all that characters life experiences up till that point, and then further advancement is faster because they know what they're doing and adventuring is intense

By tuat logic, multiclassing is pretty dubioua, because you're saying that the character has achieved level one in a new class in an arbitrarily short period of not training about it

except you don't get any of the abilities for speaking mandarin for 28 years, just for 1 year of learning, which you can supplement with 28 years of english
