<queqiao--> <rat in suit> Could the perturbations be changing it's orbital period without changing the rotation?
<queqiao--> <dodgethisduck> How do I test for that?
<queqiao--> <rat in suit> I dont really know xD

<queqiao--> <rat in suit> I guess you could make a sandbox save and go to the tracking station and timewarp some more years in the future to see if that happens
<queqiao--> <rat in suit> Principia doesn't simulate tidal lock does it?
<queqiao--> <dodgethisduck> I read somewhere that they didn't want to force tidal locking and throw off the physics.
<queqiao--> <dodgethisduck> It's not that big of a deal, just a minor inconvenience.
<queqiao--> <rat in suit> I'm suspecting if the orbital period is changing slightly but the rotation speed is fixed then it may be causing the mun to show it's other face
<queqiao--> Reply to "dodgethisduck: It's not that big of a deal, just a minor inconvenience."
<queqiao--> <rat in suit> Yeah I don't see a problem. Maybe just for contracts that require landing on the other side, if they rely on your location on the surface rather than checking if you're actually on the opposite side of the planet
<queqiao--> <dodgethisduck> I play on sandbox anyway, so the only contracts I have are the ones I make up in my head, lol

<queqiao--> <sichelgaita> Principia disables the nonphysical tidal locking provided by KSP. It is very easy for the designer of a solar system to simulate tidal locking by tweaking the rotational speed of a celestial. That's what happens for the Moon in RSS. But you seem to be playing with a solar system where that was not done (stock?) so you get what you get.

<queqiao--> <dodgethisduck> Yeah, I use OPM and found a config for it since just having OPM alone will undo the Joolian corrections.
