<egbog> how would y'all go about setting up a halo orbit at earth-moon L2? i tried winging it and got pretty close but im unsatisfied with the results
<queqiao-->
<egbog> im just unsure how to align my TLI, im sort of using a LLO style injection where im just getting a close periapsis. then adjusting until i get an intersection below L2 and attempting a circularization
<queqiao-->
<egbog> another thing too is delta-v cost. there's a lot of differing values, deltavmap.github.io says transfer->L2 is 350m/s but other sources suggest it's near 800m/s. i haven't gotten anything under 1km/s really

<ISO> this paper is on transfers from lunar L2 to LLO around the earth; https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10509-017-3124-x they report a cost of 650 m/s. the trajectory there should be the same cost as the trajectory back
<queqiao-->
<ISO> in terms of delta-v cost, consider the jacobi energy required to open up L2 from just opening up L1 (the point where initially lunar transfers would be possible). from LEO due to the oberth effect I think the difference will be about 10-20 m/s delta v to go from opening L1 to opening L2
